Jacob Varela
Jacob Varela’s sensitivity to smells and pleasure in guessing perfumes appeared early, first in Barcelona where he was born in 1986, then in Luxembourg during his childhood.
After studying chemistry and completing an internship in chromatography and organic chemistry, he decided to become a perfumer to understand and dissect molecules, just as he had wanted to be an inventor as a child.
Jacob’s Inspiration:
“I'm very curious by nature, I'm always on the hunt for something new, especially in modern art exhibitions. I liked the Anish Kapoor exhibition in Berlin, maybe because of the way he uses the visual arts to play with our senses."
Fluent in Four European Languages and Mandarin
Jacobs' extensive cultural and professional experience - including working in Shanghai - helps him explore new registers and expand his horizons of inspiration in this world of raw materials. Since 2018, he has continued to passionately create across multiple market segments.
