How do I place an order online?

We encourage you to explore our website by browsing the catalog, selecting a category from the menu, or choosing one of the featured collections on the homepage. After picking an item, select the appropriate bottle size if available, then add it to your cart by clicking “Add to cart.” You may continue shopping by selecting “Continue shopping,” or you can view your cart and proceed to payment by choosing “Checkout.”

When you’re ready to finalize your order, simply click “Proceed to checkout.”

How can I obtain assistance for ordering online?

For every order made online, a copy of your invoice will be sent to you by email once your order has been dispatched.

Our team strives to pick, pack, and ship orders as quickly as possible. Please note that once an order is placed, we are unable to cancel it.

Each order can be paid using only one payment method. If you would like to use multiple methods, we recommend placing separate orders.

Will I need to pay import taxes or customs duties on my order?

International orders may be subject to import duties and taxes. These charges are set by the customs authorities in your country/region and are beyond our control. They can vary depending on factors such as the product’s country of origin, local VAT rates, and applicable import taxes. You will be responsible for paying any duties or taxes if requested by your local authorities.

For orders within the EU, you do not need to pay VAT or import VAT separately, as these are already included in your purchase.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

After placing your order, you’ll receive a confirmation email confirming that we’ve received your order and payment. Once your package is shipped, an email with your tracking details will be sent to you.

Yes! We offer free delivery for all orders within Europe. Please note that this offer is not available for shipments outside of Europe.

Returns and Exchanges

What is your policy on returns?

You have 14 calendar days from the date of delivery to exercise your right to cancel and request a refund for any product(s) that did not meet your expectations. Products that are opened, damaged, used, marked, altered, or not returned in their original packaging are not eligible for a refund.

All items must be returned together, including any complimentary gifts (excluding the 1.5ml samples). Discovery Sets cannot be returned or exchanged.

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Can I exchange my order?

Exchanges are only accepted for Alendor products purchased through our official website, alendor.com, within 14 days of the delivery date. Items must be unused and in their original packaging. Discovery Sets are not eligible for return or exchange.

Our Journey: From Concept to Creation

🇩🇪 German Roots: Concept and Design (Wiesbaden, Germany): All creative concepts and packaging designs originate in Wiesbaden. We ensure a blend of thoughtful aesthetics and artisanal detail, carefully sourcing the many components required to complete every Alendor bottle from trusted global partners.

🇫🇷 French Soul: Scent and Production (Paris, France): Our fragrances come to life through a long-term creative process in Paris, the world's perfumery capital. Skilled perfumers carefully compose each scent using rare absolutes, extracts, and essential oils, all responsibly sourced worldwide. The final products are then proudly made in France.

How does Alendor approach sustainability?

We aim to use sustainably sourced ingredients whenever possible, ensuring that our fragrances are safe and responsibly created. While there is still progress to be made, we are continuously exploring ways to improve our practices and make our products and packaging even more mindful of the environment.

Do you design custom bottles or packaging?

 Yes. Every element of our packaging — from the glass to the label — is designed exclusively for House of Alendor. Each piece is our intellectual property, reflecting both our visual identity and our dedication to quality.

Why do perfumes have different prices?

Perfume prices can vary based on the ingredients used. The cost depends on the rarity and the quantities in which some materials are produced. In some cases, certain ingredients are simply more difficult or costly to source and process than others.

How long does it take to develop a product?

Creating a fragrance involves multiple stages:

  1. Idea & Concept Development: Establishing the foundational vision for the scent.
  2. Creation: Selecting raw materials, formulating the fragrance, and designing the packaging.
  3. Evaluation & Refinement: Conducting olfactory testing and making adjustments to achieve perfect balance.
  4. Production: Producing the packaging, blending, maturation, maceration, and finally, bottling the perfume. From the initial concept to the final product, this whole process can take anywhere from 12 to 36 months.
How long can I keep my fragrance?

Our fragrances don’t really expire, though their olfactory experience may evolve over time. To preserve their quality, we strongly recommend storing them in a cool, dark place away from heat and direct sunlight.

If a fragrance is exposed to excessive heat or light, it may slightly alter the scent and affect its overall longevity. Proper storage helps maintain the fragrance’s original character for as long as possible.

Does price affect a fragrance’s longevity and sillage?

No. A higher price does not automatically mean a fragrance will last longer or project more. Not every perfume is designed for long-lasting wear or strong projection.

  • Fresh vs. Deep: Lighter scents, such as citrus or fresh fragrances, contain more volatile (fast-evaporating) notes. Comparing their performance to heavier scents, like oud or amber, is like comparing apples and oranges.

Artistic Choice: Sometimes, a beautiful, rare, and artistic blend of expensive ingredients is intentionally crafted as a subtle or "skin scent." These perfumes are designed to last on the skin all day but remain noticeable only to those who come closer. Many people specifically seek out these less projecting fragrances for personal reasons.

Are longevity and sillage the main factors to consider when evaluating a perfume?

No. There are many different fragrance families and styles, and quality is judged by much more than just projection. Factors such as the uniqueness of the scent, the olfactory experience, the balance of the notes, and the quality of the raw materials are equally important.

 What is the concentration in your perfumes?

We decide on the exact concentration based on the specific fragrance and its scent profile, together with the perfumer. 

Most of our fragrances contain between 23% and 26% concentration. 

This level is chosen through many rounds of testing with the perfumer. We must also follow strict regulations that limit the percentage of certain natural materials for safety. Finally, increasing the dosage too much can change the olfactory experience and compromise the sensation of the top notes. The perfumer must skillfully balance and adjust the ingredients to ensure that all the top, heart, and base notes smell perfect together.

Does concentration always give a complete picture of quality?

No. The fragrance industry, especially regarding safety in the EU, is highly regulated. However, marketing claims about concentration are often unregulated and full of misinformation.

We at Alendor are committed to transparency and education. We create resources like videos and articles to clear up these misunderstandings. This is why we created the "Artists Behind Scents" series, which gives our perfumers a platform to explain their creative process and answer common questions.

A Simple Explanation of Concentration

To keep it simple:
Concentrate Ingredients: Natural ingredients (the precious materials) are first mixed and diluted in carrier oils (sometimes mistakenly called 'solvent' in conversation). Finally, after maturation, the "perfume oil" is mixed with alcohol and a bit of distilled water and macerated.

The Misconception: The concentration percentage that brands talk about is the mix of the carrier oil and the precious materials. This percentage doesn't tell the whole story.

The Example: A brand could claim 35% concentration by simply using a lot of cheap carrier oil. Another brand could have a 25% concentration that uses less carrier oil but the same amount (or more) of the expensive precious materials.

Therefore, a 25% concentration can actually contain the same amount, or even more, of the high-quality scent materials than a 35% claim. The percentage alone is not complete information.

This practice of focusing heavily on the percentage is often used by some brands to boost the misconception that a higher number always equals better quality.

Why isn’t my perfume filled to the top of the bottle?

 Alendor bottles are designed with a small space at the top, known as ullage. This gap is intentional and necessary for all liquid-filled bottles, as it allows the fragrance to expand slightly with changes in temperature or during transport.

Rest assured, every Alendor flacon contains the exact amount of perfume stated on the label.

Why isn’t my perfume completely clear?

Alendor fragrances are crafted with natural ingredients, which can naturally influence the color of the perfume.

Occasionally, you may also notice tiny particles or sediment, especially in perfumes with a high concentration of natural materials. This is a normal characteristic and does not affect the quality or performance of the fragrance.

What ingredients are used in our fragrances?

 At Alendor, transparency and attention to detail are central to every creation.

All our fragrances are made with carefully selected, high-quality raw materials, chosen for their rich olfactory profile and skin-friendly properties, following strict regulations of EU and IFRA.  For those with sensitive or reactive skin, we recommend performing a patch test before full application.

Do your fragrances contain allergens or ingredients that may cause skin reactions?

All our fragrances are formulated with high-quality ingredients and comply with EU and IFRA regulations. Some fragrances may contain allergenic components naturally present in essential oils or fragrance materials. Are your products tested on animals?

No, none of our products or their ingredients are tested on animals. We partner exclusively with suppliers who follow the same strict standards. Additionally, we do not sell or ship our products to countries where animal testing would be required.

Why does my perfume look different in color from previous bottles?

The color of our perfumes can naturally vary from batch to batch due to the seasonal variations in the raw materials we use. These changes in color do not affect the scent or quality of the fragrance.

Perfumes are living creations, and subtle color changes can occur over time as part of their natural evolution. All our fragrances undergo strict quality and safety testing to ensure they remain safe for use.

Every product undergoes thorough testing to ensure it is safe when used as intended, and all of our products fully comply with the relevant laws and regulations of the European Union.
